Sashaying across to Suomenlinna

In a move reminiscent of Groundhog Day, we reversed our path from two weeks ago and headed back from HSK Lautassari to Suomenlinna again. Ric and Fiona joined us last night, so, we headed to Suomenlinna. Anne and I will spend the day looking around the island, while Ric and Fiona can take the ferry back across to Helsinki and explore around. It is only a short trip and we did it with a very gentle breeze and in the sunshine. We headed across first thing as that way we hoped to get a berth before everyone else headed in for the day. Sure enough, by about 3pm the harbour is pretty full, but we have a nice berth directly opposite the cafe, where we had an excellent (‘all you can eat’) smoked salmon soup. It was delicious, but it turns out I can’t eat as much as I thought …. no surprise there!
