Hanging around in Hoorn

A short final trip today. We have decided to keep the boat in Hoorn for the winter in case of a no-deal Brexit, so this morning we headed off early from Enkhuizen. Once through the lock (which we went straight into) we found a nice gentle breeze of around 10 knots and so hoisted full sail. We made the first headland on one tack, but then had to come right on the wind and tack across to Enkhuizen in a gradually dying breeze. However, we managed to sail to within a mile of the entrance – a nice way to finish the cruise for the year.
